OpenInfobutton 2.1

A pre-release of OpenInfobutton 2.1 is now available. It includes several improvements in the back end, several LITE fixes and usability improvements, and a virtual machine package to simplify installation of OpenInfobutton instances.

Phase III - Automatic Summarization

We are making available a set of tools wrapped as Web services for the automatic summarization of the biomedical literature. The content will be developed within the next few weeks. 

OpenInfobutton hotfix

The RxNorm REST API used by the OpenInfobutton Manager was recently updated to no longer allow a deprecated method. This affects version 1.5 of the OpenInfobutton Manager as it uses the older version of the REST API. A hotfix has already been prepared and submitted to the master repository so users can quickly get back up and running. Without installing this update, any requests that use the RxNorm API will fail. OpenInfobutton receives OSEHRA certification

The OpenInfobutton software has been certified by the Open Source EHR Alliance (OSEHRA) community. The certification process includes a set of rigorous criteria in categories such as documentation, unit testing, functional testing, manual code review, and code style.

Infobutton Responder - first release

The first release of the Infobutton Responder service has been completed. The Infobutton Responder enables health care organizations to index their local clinical content according to HL7 contextual attributes and serve this content through a RESTful Web service, compliant with the HL7 Infobutton standard. Work is underway to make this component available via the Open Source EHR Agent (OSEHRA)

OpenInfobutton live at Intermountain Healthcare

OpenInfobutton has been deployed at Intermountain Healthcare integrated with the patients’ problem list. Integration with e-prescribing, lab test results, and the Intermountain Healthcare PHR is underway. Intermountain is the largest healthcare provider in the Intermountain West, with 22 hospitals and over 800 physicians serving the healthcare needs of Utah and southeastern Idaho residents.
